Diamond Micro Flow Technology

Ultra-durable flow control interfaces using monocrystalline and polycrystalline diamond

Dutch Diamond Group develops advanced micro flow control components based on diamond technology. By combining monocrystalline diamond spheres, PCD valve seats, and precision diamond orifices, we create extremely durable and stable interfaces for demanding fluid control systems.

These components are designed for applications where wear resistance, chemical stability and long-term sealing performance are critical.

The Technology

Diamond Micro Flow Technology combines three precision components into a highly durable flow control interface:

  • Monocrystalline diamond spheres

  • PCD valve seats

  • Precision diamond orifices

These components work together to create an extremely stable and wear-resistant sealing and flow control system for demanding applications.

Unlike conventional valve materials such as ruby, sapphire or ceramics, diamond maintains its geometry and surface quality even under long-term dynamic loading and aggressive chemical environments.

Precision Sealing and Flow Control

The diamond sphere acts as the primary sealing element, contacting the PCD valve seat to create a highly stable sealing interface.

The slightly more compliant polycrystalline diamond seat forms a precise sealing line with the monocrystalline sphere.Below the valve interface, a laser-machined PCD orifice controls the flow restriction and pressure characteristics of the system.

This combination enables:

  • stable sealing performance

  • consistent flow behavior

  • extremely long component lifetime

Even under demanding operating conditions.

Key Advantages

Why Diamond?

Diamond offers material properties that are unmatched by conventional engineering materials.

Extreme Wear Resistance

Diamond is the hardest known material. Valve components maintain their geometry and sealing performance even after long-term use.

Ultra-Smooth Surfaces

Surface roughness of approximately Ra 20 nm ensures highly stable contact and sealing behavior.

Chemical Inertness

Diamond is resistant to most aggressive chemicals used in analytical and industrial environments.

Long Service Life

Diamond components typically last significantly longer than ruby, ceramic or metal alternatives.

This results in reduced maintenance and improved system stability.
